Try out this spin on an american classic. Everyone loves a sloppy joe, right? My mother fed these to me all the time as a kid. I don’t doubt your kid will love them too. The beauty of this recipe is, you get to enjoy a nice coca cola while you’re cooking. Winning!
Breakdown:
Difficulty: Medium
Feeds: 4 people
Time: Dinner
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 1 cup Coca Cola (drink the rest!)
- 1 cup tomato based BBQ sauce
- Package hamburger buns
Instructions:
Cook your ground beef in a skillet over medium heat with the chopped onions until the meat is no longer pink, about 10 minutes or so. Reduce the heat to medium and add coca cola and barbecue sauce. Continue to cook while stirring occasionally until the sauce is thickened to desired consistency, about 10 more minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper as per usual. Toast the burger buns in a warm oven, if desired. Serve up a nice portion of the sloppy joe mix on each bun. Enjoy!
